Kim Dewey

June 9, 1960 — March 16, 2024

Kim Dewey, 63, of Campbell, died Saturday, March 16, 2024 at her residence.

Kim Renae Kugler was born June 9, 1960 to Eldor and Marlene (Anderson) Kugler in Fergus Falls. Kim was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls on August 6, 1960 and was confirmed at Tonseth Lutheran Church in Erhard on May 4, 1975. Blue-eyed, blonde-haired Kim attended grades K-6 in a one room school house at District 1496, outside of Fergus Falls. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1978.

As a kid, Kim was involved in 4-H and continued to remain involved with her own children and grandchildren. She had a huge love for animals and cared for them her whole life.

She was employed by the Broen Home as a CNA, then did daycare in her home and at Children's Corner when her children were young. She raised chickens and sheep for many years and helped with farming. She was nominated and voted Red River Farm Woman of the Year in 2005. Kim also worked at Herberger's, and owned her own cleaning business.

On June 20, 1981, Kim married Roger Dewey at Tonseth Lutheran Church in Erhard.

Kim was a great softball and pool player, where she enjoyed playing in a pool league. She enjoyed gardening and dancing the two-step. She loved her horses and traveling to her favorite trails. She also loved being a mother, and absolutely adored being a grandmother to her grandchildren. Her profound love for always putting others first and her caring spirit shined brightly throughout her life. Kim was a strong woman who battled her years of cancer with such grace and positivity. Her strong faith never wavered and is an inspiration to us all.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Marlene Kugler; grandparents, Carl and Kathryn Kugler and Julius and Edna Anderson, and grandchild, Peyton Faith Coombs.

Kim is survived by her husband, Roger Dewey; her children, Barton (Laura) Dewey, Darcie (Chris) Coombs, and Ali (Jesse) Drechsel; grandchildren, Carly, Dakota, and Saige Dewey, Jack, Jetta, Titus, Tait, Colt, and Cambrie Coombs, and Carson and Haylee Drechsel; her father, Eldor Kugler; siblings, Deb (Mike) Messer, Tami (Pat) Collins, Scott Kugler, and Shannon Kugler, and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Memorials are preferred to WOTC 4-H Leaders Council (memo: Dewey Sheep) or Buse/Orwell 4-H Club.
