Kermit H. Weinrich, 96, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He was born June 3, 1914, in Western Township of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, at the family farm near Lightning Lake, the son of August and DeLinda (Gast) Weinrich. He grew up in Western Township where he attended country school through the 8th grade. During World War II Kermit served his country in the U. S. Army, and was stationed in Europe. He spent his life farming in Western and Buse Townships, retiring in the early 1970’s. Kermit enjoyed tinkering with electronics and other mechanical devices, and also liked spending his time out fishing. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, Dolores Streeter and Florence Priebnow, and four brothers, Everett, Elwin, Vernon, and Willmer. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Sharon and Paul Stevens. There will be a graveside service at 7 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at Trinity-Faith Cemetery in Fergus Falls with Reverend John Andrews officiating. Military participation will be by the Fergus Falls VFW. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
