Kenneth Elton Formo, 83, a resident of Underwood, died Monday, March 26, 2012, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls. He was born November 21, 1928, Dalton, Minnesota, the son of Sam and Myrtle (Thompson) Formo. He moved to Fergus Falls when he was six years old, where he attended school. Ken worked for a time on a ranch in Montana, later returning to Fergus Falls where he worked for the Flour Mill and the Creamery. Ken then worked as a brick layer for Eian and Ness Contracting until 1956 when he became disabled from an accident. On July 2, 1948, he married Leone Johnson at the Rectory of the Catholic Church in Fergus Falls. They lived in Fergus Falls until the mid-1970’s when they moved to their current home near Underwood. Ken loved visiting, playing cards, antiques, spending time with his brother-in-law, Larry Johnson, ice racing, observing nature, and attending auctions. He was a happy, content, considerate, and thoughtful individual. His many friends and family will miss him dearly. He was a 61 year member of the Eagles Club in Fergus Falls. Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Craig; and two brothers, Milton and Richard. Survivors include his wife, Leone, of Underwood; two sons, Bernie (Patty) Formo of Underwood, and Tim Formo of Anchorage, AK; two grandchildren, Ben and Angie; three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Caleb, and Ava; two sisters, Jeanette Williams and Sally (Joe) Christenson both of Fergus Falls; and two brothers, David (Eunice) Formo and Andy (Pat) Formo, both of Fergus Falls. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012 at Sverdrup Lutheran Church in Underwood Clergy: Reverend Nancy Monke Interment: Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, Battle Lake Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
