Keith Rutherford, age 64, of Erhard, passed away on November 22, 2023, with his family by his side.
Keith James Rutherford was born on January 14, 1959, in Mayville, ND, to James and Karen (Gast) Rutherford. He attended school in Kensal, ND, where he graduated in 1977.
After graduating, Keith joined the United States Navy and gave four years of service. After the service he held multiple jobs including working in the oil fields in Montana and working at the Anne Carlson Center in Jamestown, ND. He moved to Florida where he lived on his boat while working various jobs. He moved to Minneapolis where he worked at North Memorial Hospital as an instrument tech in SPD, putting case carts together for surgery, which he continued doing at various hospitals in Phoenix, AZ.
On September 24, 1994, Keith married Connie Weiss at Grace Lutheran Church of Erhard.
Keith enjoyed sports, mainly baseball and football, with the Minnesota Twins and Vikings being his favorites, though he did like the Bison, as well. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting but mainly he enjoyed spending time with family.
Preceding him in death were his father, James Rutherford; brothers, Kevin Rutherford and Ken Rutherford; and stepfather, Derald Connell.
Keith is survived by his wife of 29 years, Connie Rutherford of Erhard; two children, Danielle Rutherford of Atlanta, GA and James Rutherford of Erhard; mother, Karen Connell of Jamestown, ND; brothers, Dan (Lyn) Rutherford of Jamestown, ND, Doug Connell of Jamestown, ND and Duane Connell of Grand Forks, ND; along with stepbrothers and stepsisters, Mike (Joni) Connell of Fargo, Terry Busch of Fargo, Tim Connell of Cheyenne, WY, and Patricia (Will) Gilchrest of Dilworth; sisters-in-law, Vickie Demblon and Holly (Joe) Stenger all of Fergus Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls and will resume one-hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard, MN.
