Kathy Ann McCallum, of Fergus Falls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 11, 2013. Kathy finally received her ultimate healing and her family rejoices that she suffers no more in her eternal home.
She was born on June 30, 1952, in Mitchell, South Dakota. She grew up in Ortonville, Minnesota and graduated from high school there in 1970. She went on to attend St. Cloud State University and graduated from Abbott Northwestern School of Nursing in 1974 as a registered nurse.
On July 7, 1973 Kathy was united in marriage to John McCallum. They moved to Fergus Falls in 1975. Kathy was employed at Lake Region Hospital in the operating room for 13 years, and then as a psychiatric nurse on the Bridgeway Unit, until her retirement in 2012.
For many years, Kathy also worked as the school nurse at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy, Morning Son Christian School, Trinity Lutheran School and Our Lady of Victory. She also served as nurse manager at Health Resources Center (Agape) when it became a medical clinic.
Kathy had a passion for volunteering. She was involved at Lake Region Hospital as a Stephens Minister, at Health Resources Center as a nurse and consultant, and as a Sunday School and Wednesday School Teacher.
Kathy enjoyed her summers at the family cabin on East Lost Lake. Some of her favorite pastimes included quilting, reading, participating in bible studies and spending time with her family. Above all, Kathy loved Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Lorange.
She will be greatly missed by multitudes of friends, family members and all those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her husband, John; her children: Erin (Josh) Tysver, Rachel (Phillip) Samuelson and Grace (fiance Ryan Forbes) McCallum; grandchildren: Titus and Quinn Tysver; her mother, Lois Lorange; her sister, Karla (Dan) Beutler; her brother, Paul (Connie) Lorange; and numerous nieces and nephews.
