Juneal Ethelyn Peterson

Juneal Ethelyn (Sivertson) Peterson, 79, of Fergus Falls, passed away on Friday November 22, 2019, from a heart attack at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.
Juneal was born January 8, 1940, on a farm north of Underwood, the fourth child of (Ole) Adolph and Edna (Lund) Sivertson. She attended Skramstad #109 grade school, north of Underwood and WCSA High School in Morris, MN. She also trained at the Tom Cole Cosmetology School in Ferus Falls.
She lived in the Minneapolis area most of her adult life and she met John Peterson there. They were married April 30, 1971. John passed away on May 4, 1992. Many years after John’s death she moved to Fergus Falls and lived at the Page House until June of 2019, when she transitioned into a cottage at PioneerCare.
She is remembered by her smile and laughter and the way her eyes sparkled whenever she talked to you. She loved her family and all little children, even though she had none of her own. She enjoyed working as a nanny for many years in the Minneapolis area. Juneal was great at remembering others on birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas, with cards and/or gifts. She loved working on jigsaw puzzles, which she often framed. She had lots of Elvis Presley memorabilia, whom she adored, because they shared the same birthday. Dogs were her favorite pets.
Juneal was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Peterson; infant brother, Neil Sivertson; infant niece, Cynthia Torkelson, and infant nephew, Niel Sivertson.
She is survived by her brother, Richard (Erma) Sivertson of Glenwood and their three children, Daniel (Linda), Glenn (Shirley), and Randal (Kathryn) Sivertson; her sister, Ruby (Robert) Torkelson of Fergus Falls and their five children, Timothy, Douglas (Patricia), Kurt (Pamela), Rick (Nadia) Torkelson, and Tricia (Michael) Dion, as well as many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
