Julie Rae Bye, 61, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, November 24, 2016, at Sanford in Fargo, ND.
Julie was born on May 23, 1955, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Clayton and Elma (Laugen) Abbott. She graduated in 1973 from the Fergus Falls Senior High School.
She married Tom Bye in Sisseton, South Dakota on June, 27 1972.
Her love for food service was evident in her career, working in the deli at Service Food and Sun Mart, in the kitchen at the Community College and the Fergus Falls School System at Adams School as a supervisor in the lunchroom. She was also employed at Rosenblats, in Fergus Falls.
Julie was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, doing crossword puzzles and suduko and spending time in the garden and working with flowers. She loved her two sons and her grandsons immensely.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Elma Heinecke, her father, Clayton Abbott and her brother, Rodney Abbott.
Survivors include her sons, Michael (Mya) Bye of Dalton and Matthew (Krysta) Bye of Moorhead; grandchildren, Tristan, Hunter, Leo, Owen and Daniel; siblings, Sandy (DuWayne) Bauman, Cindy (Jeff) Abbott, Lori (Mark) Jensen, Tammy (Wayne) Carlson, and Terry (Mila) Abbott, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church
Memorial service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Augustana Lutheran Church, Elizabeth
