Judy Diane Brown, 69, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
She was born March 5, 1944, in Ashley, North Dakota, the daughter of Herman and Alma (Joachim) Bertsch. She was baptized and confirmed at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Tenney, Minnesota. She attended school in Wheaton MN, Fairmount ND, Tenney MN, and graduated from Campbell High School on May 25, 1962.
On December 1, 1962 she married Richard “Dick” Lowell Brown at the Congregational Church in Tintah. They moved to Fergus Falls in March of 1963.
She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Peace, leading the prayer chain for many years, and saw many miracles. She was also a member of the Heart O’Lakes Camera Club.
Her hobbies included photography, collecting Elvis memorabilia, reading, music, and old movies. Her charities were the Humane Society and the International Wolf Center in Ely MN. She had a great love of animals – especially dogs. She loved being with her children, and her grandchildren and great-grandchild were her greatest joy.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her in-laws, Roy Brown and Garnett Pollard, a brother-in-law, Terry Brown, and a niece Janelle McCarthy.
Survivors include her husband, Dick Brown of Fergus Falls; her children: Richelle (James) Barvels of Breckenridge MN, Neil Brown of Coon Rapids MN, Cullen (Brenda) Brown of Fergus Falls, and Deahn (Gregory) Lawson of Hastings MN; seven grandchildren: Brittany (David) Nelson, Courtney Barvels, Mark Brown, Tyler (Susan) Brown, TJ Brown, Jeramey Brown, and Julia Lawson; one great-grandchild, Morgan Nelson; and two special Yorkies, Sunshine and Swee’Pea.
Visitation: two hours prior to the service at the church
Service: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the United Methodist Church of Peace in Fergus Falls

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery in Fergus Falls
