Judith Johnson

Judith O. Johnson, 91, a resident of Battle Lake, died Sunday, February 14, 2010, at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center in Battle Lake. She was born October 9, 1918, in Wahpeton, North Dakota, the daughter of Julius and Olga Odden. She was the oldest of eight children. On June 21, 1943, she married Alfred S. Johnson at Trefoldighed Lutheran Church southwest of Battle Lake. The couple farmed southeast of Underwood. She also worked at the Battle Lake Nursing Home/Good Samaritan Center for over 25 years. She loved the many people she worked for and with over the years. Judith enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, and cleaning. Her greatest love was spending time with family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, and siblings, Orvin Odden, Irene Schmidt, Sanford Odden, and Murice Ruud. Survivors include her son, James (Sharon) Johnson of Kilgore, Texas, and daughters, Janice Eklund of Underwood, and Joan Johnson of Battle Lake; her brother, Clifford Odden of Isle, MN; and her sisters, Geraldine (Wally) Bullene of Detroit Lakes, and Marjorie (David) Olson of Ortonville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, David and Jimmy Johnson, Corey Johnson and Summer (Bill) Turner, all of Texas, Kathy (Randy) Nordick of Rothsay, Michelle (Dean) Hatlestad and Mark (Stacy) Eklund, all of Fergus Falls; great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
