Joyce Annette Rund, 74, a resident of Battle Lake, died on Thursday morning, October 5, 2017, at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Joyce was born on July 16, 1943, in Graceville, MN to John T. and Ethel (Heimann) Aswege. She attended grade school at Trinity Christian Day School in Johnson, MN, and graduated from West Central School of Agriculture in 1961.
On September 14, 1963, she married Kenwood Rund at Trinity Lutheran Church near Johnson, MN. The couple lived in rural Glencoe for 40 years where Joyce was a member of St. Johns Ev. For more than 15 years, Joyce was the Office Manager of her husband’s chiropractic offices in Glencoe and Norwood Young America.
One of Joyce’s most passionate pastimes was bowling with “the girls”. She also enjoyed traveling, golf, watching/feeding birds (especially eagles, and she was always excited to see the birds in the springtime), gardening, crocheting, cooking and finding new recipes to try out. At one time, Joyce had a herd of 21 dairy goats which she enjoyed.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Ethel Aswege.
Survivors include her husband, Kenwood Rund of Battle Lake (Stalker Lake); children, Lisa Rund of Hutchinson, and Brett Rund of Glencoe; sister, Elaine (George) Harstad of Herman; brother, Armand (Garnet) Aswege of Graceville.
