Joyce Aune

Joyce Delaine Aune, 80, a resident of Moorhead, formerly of the Rothsay area, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at the Elim Nursing Home in Fargo. Joyce was born on February 19, 1928 in Rural Rothsay, the daughter of Oscar and Olga (Ostlund) Anderson. She grew up in rural Rothsay and attended grade school in Rothsay. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1945. She married Wallace Aune in a private ceremony in the fall of 1967 in Minneapolis. In 1957, Joyce owned and operated the Kowalski’s Grocery Store in Erhard until 1964. In 1964, she became the owner of the Kowalski Motor Dealership in Rothsay and continued to work there until 1966. From 1966 to 1967, she was the credit manager at Townsedge Oldsmobile in Hopkins, MN. In 1967, she began working at West Bend Thermo Service as the office manager and continued there until 1974. She also worked at Otter Tail County courthouse and Berg Oil Company in Anoka until she retired in May of 1984. Joyce enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with her grandchildren and walking. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Wallace, who died in May 1975 and an infant daughter, Sheryl. Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Mike) Bergh of Fargo; two grandsons, Christopher and Matthew Bergh and her dog, Jack, who was her constant companion.
