Jon Hegstad

Jon Hegstad, 66, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, March 25, 2024 at Vibra Hospital of Fargo.

Jon Douglas Hegstad was born September 23, 1957 to Douglas and Georgeen (Siems) Hegstad in Fergus Falls. He graduated from Fergus Falls Senior High School in 1976.

At 13 Jon was a tender for his uncle. He worked at Hegstad Oil Company and drove school bus for Ottertail Coaches. In 2002 Jon started working for Bimbo Bakeries where he was employed for 20 years. Jon retired in 2022 due to health complications.

On February 11, 1984 Jon married Donna Hoffman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

He enjoyed cooking, especially making his family klub. Jon's favorite times were spent with his family, especially his 21 grandchildren and his two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Douglas and Georgeen Hegstad; parents-in-law, Art and June Hoffman; and his two best friends, Daryl Hoffman and Mark Stone.

Jon is survived by his wife, Donna Hegstad; his children, Melissa (Tim) Moe, Ryan (Niki) Schroeder, Becca (Rob) Hansen, and Mason (Jenna) Hegstad; his grandchildren, Taylor, Madison (Demar), Austin (Amara), Jacob (Ilea), Logan (Amari), Preston, Alexi (Corban), Brandon (Kylie), Jo, Clayton, Ty, Payton, Savannah, Teagan, Maverick, and Owen; great-grandchildren, Aniya Schroeder and Oakley Schroeder; sister, Brenda (Kevin) Peterson; brother-in-law, David (Dariel) Hoffman, and nieces, cousins, aunts, and many close friends.

Visitation: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls.

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
