John P. Bach, 87, of Fergus Falls, formerly of Underwood and Breckenridge, died Sunday, February 10, 2019, at LB Broen Home, Fergus Falls.
John was born on June 30, 1931, in Fairmount, ND, to Louis and Anna (Differding) Bach. On March 1, 1954, John married Joy Anderson at St. Gall’s Catholic Church in Tintah.
John worked for Fairmount Creamery, Peschel Candy Co., Red River Jobbing, Chuck’s Off Sale and 3M, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Eagles, VFW, and Lakes Area Sportsman’s Club.
John enjoyed fishing, hunting, and always had a garden. He had numerous bird feeders, and a dislike of the pesky squirrels when they tried to raid the feeders. Pickerel Lake was always a special place for him, with pontoon rides around the lake, grilling meals, and gathering around the evening campfire. He loved his nachos and drinking the perfect Manhattan.
John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence and Frank; sisters, Susanna Herding, Dorothy Schreiber and Margaret Leinen, and great-grandson, Kane Bjorgum.
John is survived by his wife, Joy of Fergus Falls; children, Bev (Paul) Israelson of Wolverton, Pam (Darwin) Krause of Underwood, Kathy (Kevin) Smith of Breckenridge, John Paul of Fergus Falls, Stephanie (Jaysen) Hasbargen of Breckenridge. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Bryan Israelson, Megan (Joe) Woodraska, Mandy (Scott) Rideout, Josh Krause, Abby Krause, Jesse (Tanya) Smith, Taylor (Ian) Bjorgum, Hayden Bach, Andee Jo Bach, Alec Hasbargen, Arica Hasbargen; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Bryson, and Brody Israelson, Duncan, Moxie, and Casper Woodraska, Jaydee and Kenzie Rideout, Zy and DeMarrion Krause, Ryder and Aria Smith, Macy and Jagger Bjorgum. He is also survived by sisters, Marie Beyer of Breckenridge, Loretta Althoff of Hankinson, ND; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the church.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls.
