JoAnn R. Krabbenhoft

JoAnn Ruby Krabbenhoft, 69, a resident of Battle Lake, died Sunday, October 25, 2015, at her home on Silver Lake, in rural Battle Lake, MN.

JoAnn was born on April 23, 1946, in Warren, MN, to Norman and Ruby (Hamberg) Jensen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran Church in rural Stephen. She attended school in Stephen and graduated from Stephen High School in 1964.

On June 1, 1968, she married Jerald Reinhardt in Stephen, MN, and to this union JoAnn had three children; Aaron, Alison and Joshua. After her marriage to Jerald, they lived in Grand Forks, ND, Denver, CO, Minot, ND, and again in Grand Forks, where she raised her family.

On August 3, 2002, JoAnn married Curtis R. Krabbenhoft in Elk River, MN. After marrying Curt, they moved to Elk River, MN, and then settled on Silver Lake, near Battle Lake, where she along with her husband and stepsons, built their retirement home.

JoAnn began her work career as a dental assistant in Grand Forks, ND, followed by many years of caring for her family. After her children grew older, she attended the Northland Community Technical College in East Grand Forks, where she earned an Associated of Arts Degree in Accounting. She then was employed by Applegren Construction, in Grand Forks, ND, Connexus Energy in Ramsey, ND, and lastly by Otter Tail Power Company in Fergus Falls, until her retirement in 2011.

JoAnn enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, golf, playing cards, Pie Club, Birthday Club, Wine and Cheese Club and Bridge Club. She was a gifted interior decorator and enjoyed entertaining her friends in style. JoAnn’s artistic abilities spanned many mediums including, oil painting, watercolor painting, pottery, ceramics, handmade cards and sewing.

JoAnn loved spending time with her grandchildren, making sure they knew they were special to her. For many years, JoAnn and Curt enjoyed winter trips to Arizona, but most of all, she enjoyed quiet evenings together in their home.

Preceding her death were her parents, Norman and Ruby Jensen; brother, Robert Jensen; and a granddaughter, Gabrielle Hoff.

Survivors include her spouse, Curt Krabbenhoft of Battle Lake, MN; children, Aaron (Tanya) Reinhardt of Phoenix, AZ, Alison (Dennis) Hoff of Fargo, ND, and Joshua Reinhardt of Fargo, ND; stepsons, Ryan (Teri) Krabbenhoft of Zimmerman, MN and Aaron Krabbenhoft of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Noah, Emma and Zachary Reinhardt, Hayley and Xander Hoff and Paige Krabbenhoft; brothers, Allan (Judy) Jensen, Jerry (Susan) Jensen, Ronald (Jane) Jensen and Bruce (Debi) Jensen; and many numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, and one hour prior to the service.
Memorial Service: 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls.
