Jerald L. Lemke

Jerald Leroy Lemke, 82, a resident of Elizabeth, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Pioneer Short Stay in Fergus Falls.
He was born on April 7, 1936, to Fredrick Carl “Fritz” and Marie Margaret (Seidell) Lemke in Pelican Rapids. Jerald was baptized and confirmed in the Bagstevold Lutheran Church in Erhard. He attended country school in Erhard and Pelican Rapids High School. In 1958, Jerald was drafted into the United States Army.
On May 5, 1959, Jerald married Marlys Wilde. He was stationed in Germany where they resided for a year.
Jerald was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix almost everything. He was a painter, worked on the railroad, Swift & Co., and Edgetown Lumber & Construction.
Jerald loved being with his family and especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughters. He will be missed by his best friend “Bella” (his dog).
Preceding him in death were his parents, Fritz and Marie Lemke; brothers, Byron Lemke and Marvin Lemke; sister, Eileen Halverson; sisters-in-law, Avis Lemke, Lavonne Lemke and Lucille Lemke; and brothers-in-law, Cy Lynnes, and LeRoy Halvorson.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marlys Lemke of Elizabeth; his three children, Kimberly (Mike) Randolph of Flowery Branch, GA, Kevin (Marie) Lemke of Green Isle, MN, Kerry (Renee) Lemke of Fergus Falls, MN; grandchildren, Casey Lemke, Terri Jo Lemke, Corey Lemke, Harrison Holliday, Lauren Holliday, Michael Randolph, Kevin Randolph, Will Randolph, Taylor Lemke, Miranda Lemke (Aaron Paulson); great-granddaughters, Emma Lemke, Adalynn Paulson; siblings, Joyce Lynnes, Duane (Faye) Lemke, Keith Lemke, and Idella (Jim) Nitz.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Service: 2 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls, MN
Clergy: Rev. Ed Borchardt
Military Participation: Fergus Falls V. F.W. Post 612 and American Legion Post 30
Interment: St. John’s Cemetery, Elizabeth, MN
