Jennie Swisher

Jennie Swisher, 94, a resident of Hendricks, MN, formerly of Nashua, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Hendricks Nursing Home. She was born February 1, 1916, to John and Mary (Jiracek) Susanka in Naples, SD, where she was raised and attended school. Following her education, she helped her parents and her brothers on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Ray Swisher on July 5, 1968. They farmed near Nashua. Jenny and Ray moved from the farm to Breckenridge. She cared fro Ray until his death on April 14, 1997. She then moved to Watertown, SD to be closer to her sister. On November 19, 2002, she became a resident of Hendricks Nursing Home in Hendricks. Jennie was a member of the Lutheran Church in Naples, SD. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, bird watching, fishing and traveling. Jennie will be lovingly remembered by her stepsons, Larry Swisher and his wife Judy of CA, Dwight Swisher and his wife Roxanne of Vining, Dale Swisher of Underwood and Lance Swisher hand his wife Marilyn of Plymouth; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers and three sisters. A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Nashua. Olson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
