Jennie Iola Dahl

Jennie Iola Dahl, 96, of Underwood, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the PioneerCare Center, Fergus Falls.
She was born August 4, 1917, in Maine Township, rural Underwood, the daughter of William Henry and Iona Vianna (Jenne) Nelson. She was a lifelong member of the Maine Presbyterian Church and attended District #251 through the eighth grade.
On March 7, 1933, she married Reno Eugene Dahl. They resided on the Nelson family farm which they purchased in 1947 and continued dairy farming. Besides milking cows twice a day for 30 years, Jennie sold chickens and eggs, gardened, was active at Maine Presbyterian Church, served on the school board and was involved with 4-H.
Jennie was an excellent cook, known far and wide for her delicious buns! She absolutely loved playing whist and crocheted many, many afghans.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Reno; a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Wally Stigen; a grandson, Derek Dahl; a great-granddaughter, Summer Howitz; a great grandson, Luke Johnson; brothers, Charlie, Bill, Harry, Arthur, Oliver and Phillip; sisters, Ivy Barnes, Minnie Leeman, Sylvia Kiser, Millicent Kiser, Alice Laney and Lila Lange.
She is survived by her children, Reno Blaine (Elizabeth) of Mound, Michael (Kay) of Moorhead, Kathy Stofer of Fergus Falls, Connie (Gary) Anderson of Battle Lake, and Kurt (Sheila) of rural Underwood; 19 grandchildren, Dawn (Dennis) Howitz, Laurie (Scott) Stiller, Lisa (Mike) Althoff, Andrea (Greg) Tucker, Heidi (Chris) Knutson, Jessi (Doug) Mithun, Molly (Ray) Pizarro, Josie (Rick) Keating, Tessa (Ben) Schierer, Zachary Stofer, Susannah (Michael) Amundson, Chris (Lynn) Anderson, Eric (Amy) Anderson, Laura (Jim) Close, Sarah (Craig) Mayers, Cody Dahl, Jesse (Missy) Dahl, Colt Dahl and Isabel Dahl; 33 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the Church
Service: Thursday at 1:00 pm at the Maine Presbyterian Church in Maine Township
