Jeannette Jorgens

August 10, 1946 — March 9, 2025

Jeannette "Nettie" Ora Jorgens (Formo), 78, of rural Dalton, died Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, with her family by her side.

Nettie was born on August 10, 1946, in Fergus Falls to Donald and Gertrude (Miller) Formo. She was the youngest of the Formo Triplets. Nettie was named for the doctor who delivered the Triplets, Dr. Jeannette Baker. She attended elementary and high school in Fergus Falls. She grew up surrounded by a large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her childhood was filled with joy and shenanigans.

When Nettie was young, she contracted Rheumatic Fever, which severely damaged her heart. She underwent open-heart surgery and spent many months in the hospital before recovering fully.

When Nettie was fifteen years old, while walking home from the public library, she caught the attention of a young man named James Jorgens from Dalton. The couple married on April 19, 1969, and later welcomed their only child, Scott Allen. They created many wonderful memories of camping, attending races, and watching Scott play baseball and softball.

Nettie's family brought her immense joy, especially her two grandsons, Ashton and Eli, with whom she loved spending time.

Nettie worked at several places throughout her life, including Lake Region Hospital, Rosenblatt's, Fiskers, Kmart, and Quality Circuits. Nettie developed many close and cherished friendships with her co-workers. She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Always impeccably dressed, with perfect hair and nails, Nettie's love for sparkles and glitter reflected her vibrant and youthful personality. She also enjoyed traveling, local concerts, and special events, making the most of every moment. Nettie had several dogs that she pampered. She signed everything with a Sharpie marker. She was not afraid to take charge and did not suffer fools.

Though her absence leaves an unfillable space in our lives, we find comfort in knowing she is now reunited in heaven with her son Scott, whom she missed so dearly. Their embrace is one of pure love, free of sorrow, and filled with the joy of reunion.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories, especially to her two grandsons. She will live on in our hearts forever.

Nettie was preceded in death by her son Scott, her parents, sisters Penny Muller and Janice Miller, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gordon and Marian Grage, and nephew Mark Grage.

Nettie is survived by her husband James, her sister Janet Formo, and brothers-in-law Norman Miller and Les Muller, grandsons Ashton and Eli, daughter-in-law Kelly Hecker, niece Gail (Kent) Hedstrom, nephew Daniel (Christine) Mueller, niece Deb (Bruce) Johnson, Bruce (Corriana) Grage, niece Diane (Randall) Field, great niece Brittany Hedstrom (Luke Dawson), great nephew Scott Hedstrom, cherished cousins and friends.

Future service arrangements to be made.
