Jeanette Olson

Jeanette Anna Olson, 93, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at her home under the care of Lakeland Hospice.   She was born January 12, 1918, in Orwell Township of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, the daughter of Ellis and Mathilda (Kuhlman) Bergtoll. At the age of two her mother died and she was raised by Henry and Ragna Robertson of Underwood. She grew up there and graduated from the Underwood High School.  On September 7, 1940 she married Lloyd Olson at the Tordenskjold Church. The couple made their home on the farm south of Underwood. She was a seamstress at Rosenblats in Fergus Falls. In the Fall of 1997 she moved to the Riverbend Apartments.  Jeanette was an avid gardener, loved her plants, cats and dogs, did a lot of embroidery and sewing, and continued to be very active in the ladies groups at the Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, four sisters: Irene Tostenson, Emily Henninger, Ethel Goff, and Romayne Shaw, and five brothers: Frank Lerfald, Louis Bergtoll, Eddie Bergtoll, Harold Colson and William Bergtoll.  Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (Karl) Kienegger of San Dimas, CA, a son, Michael Olson of Battle Lake, two grandchildren: Paul (Tracy) Kienegger and Cheryl (Joe) Pisciotti, and four great grandchildren: Erik and Nicholas Kienegger, Daniel and Kelsey Pisciotti. Visitation: 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Prayers at 6:30 and resumes again one hour prior to service time at the Church Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Tordenskjold Free Lutheran Church, rural Underwood Clergy: Pastors Mark Johnson and Brett Boe Interment: Tordenskjold Cemetery, rural Underwood, Minnesota Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorials are preferred to Lakeland Hospice or the American Heart Association
