Jean Viola Samuelson, age 82, of Fergus Falls, died on Monday, January 4, 2016, at her home.
Jean was born on June 2, 1933, to Perry and Viola (Young) Brown in Fergus Falls. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace United Methodist Church in Fergus Falls. Jean graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1951. Throughout her life she lived in Fergus Falls, Valley City, ND, and the Dalton, MN, area.
On June 14, 1967, she was married to Leroy Samuelson in Sisseton, SD. Jean was employed in retail at JC Penney, Fingerhut and Medallion Kitchens, before achieving her dream of owning a dairy farm.
Jean was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Fergus Falls. She enjoyed animals, fishing, baking and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Viola Brown; her husband, Leroy Samuelson in 1994; a brother, Milton Brown.
Jean is survived by her children, James (June) Samuelson of Long Prairie, Timothy (Mishon) Samuelson of Fergus Falls and Paulette Jordan of Fergus Falls; eleven grandchildren, Chad, Melissa, Jasmine, Levi, Ricky, Chris, Gabrielle, Tanya, Lexy, Colton and Hunter; twenty-one great-grandchildren; her sisters, Betty (Vic) Fuller of Moses Lake, WA, Arlene (Otto) Hanson of Dalton, Beatrice (Owen) Runningen of Ashby, Diana Burmeister of Underwood and Barb (Dave) Anderson of Elbow Lake; her brothers, Lynn (Judy) Brown of Fargo, Dennis Brown of Dalton and Jim (Lisa) Brown of Dalton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, with a public prayer service at 6:00 PM and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Grace United Methodist Church in Fergus Falls
