Janice M. Stenger, 74, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls.
She was born October 5, 1939 to Max Emil and Genevieve Margaret (Laney) Stroschein in Fergus Falls. Janice attended rural schools in Ottertail County and attended Fergus Falls High School, graduating in 1957. She continued on to Fergus Falls Junior College and then Moorhead State, earning a degree in Psychology.
Janice was united in marriage to John Stenger on November 15, 1975 in Fergus Falls.
She spent her whole career working for the State of Minnesota as a Hearing and Vision consultant. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Otter Tail County Historical Society, Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Fraternal order of Eagles and Fergus Falls Senior Citizens Program.
Her greatest love was her cats over the years. She also enjoyed doing a lot of volunteering. Janice volunteered at the museum, music programs, organist, pianist, teaching youth and Sunday School at church and she also volunteered at the Center for the Arts.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Victor “Buddy” and Max Jr.
She is survived by her brothers, Steven of Fergus Falls, James (Diane) of Elk River; nieces, Dianne, Kathy and Kerry; nephews, Thayne and Dean. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews and many friends.
Memorials preferred to Otter Tail County Humane Society or Otter Tail County Historical Society.
