Janice Fay Ahles

Janice Fay Ahles, age 76, of Fergus Falls and formerly of Hutchinson, MN, died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, MN.

Janice was born on January 9, 1940, to Emil and Ruby (Peterson) Engelking in Sleepy Eye, MN. She graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1958.

On August 31, 1963, Janice married Carl Peter Ahles in Hutchinson, MN. She worked at a variety of companies while living in Hutchinson including 3M, Telex, Hands, South Central and a local dry cleaner.

Janice’s hobbies and interests included ceramics, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and assembling jigsaw puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Ruby; her ex-husband, Carl; and a nephew, Michael Engelking.

Janice is survived by her children: James Ahles of Owatonna, MN, Peggy (Larry) Wittmann of St. Croix Falls, WI, and Paula (Mark) Davenport of Fergus Falls, MN; her grandchildren: Khaslie Laorange, Michael Ahles, Zachary Ahles, Jessica Lauritsen, Lindsey, Amanda and Beth Wittmann, and Tyler and Karly Davenport; her great-grandchildren: Zoey, Aubree, Kylan and Gemma Laorange; her brother, Francis Engelking; and her beloved cat, Ellie.

Visitation: 12:30-1:30 PM on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
Service: 1:30 PM on Friday, October 28, 2016, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls.
