Jane E. (Johnson) Swalstad, 73, of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND, surrounded by family.
Jane was born on April 4, 1945, to Ferd and Martha (Meyers) Janke in Fargo, ND. She was raised in Ulen, MN, where she attended School. Jane married Harold Johnson in 1962 and they had four children. Harold passed away on June 2, 2000. On November 19, 2005, she married Allan Swalstad, he brought four adult children to their family.
Jane dedicated her life to taking care of others by working in many health care facilities, ending her working career at Lakes Homes in Fergus Falls.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jane loved to entertain people with her singing and her love for music by performing for the residents she cared for.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant grandson, Mark Johnson, Jr. and brothers, David, Gary, and Donald.
Jane is survived by her husband, Al; her children, Suzanne (Michael) Conrad, Mark (Jodi) Johnson, Sheila (Mark) Bergerud, Sandra (Rhett) Hulst; her grandchildren, Steven, Kimberly (Wyatt), Justin, Brandon, Brady (Haley), McKenzie, Brianna (Scott), Jake, Jesse, Emma and Wyatt; great grandchildren, Jadon, Aubrie, Ethan and Isaiah; as well as Al’s children, Wanda (Darin) Johnson, Todd (Roxanne) Swalstad, Dawn (Jake) VonBank, Julie (Carl) Johnson, and his grandchildren, Caitlin, Kendra, Carson, Kayley, Taylor and Austen. Other survivors include her sister, Janice (Wally) Flyberg of Twin Valley; brothers, Roland Lampton of Lake Park, Lyle (Joyce) Janke of Fargo, ND, Richard (Sharon) Lampton of Hibbing and Arlo (Kathy) Lampton of Twin Valley.
Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2019 with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Home and resumes one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February, 16, 2019 at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel, Fergus Falls.
Clergy: Reverend Mark Tungseth
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery
