Jane Jensen

Jane Kathleen Jensen, 70, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls under the care of Lakeland Hospice. She was born June 23, 1937, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Frederick and Frances (Foss) Vogel. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls. She attended McKinley Elementary School and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1955. Jane enjoyed her school years with close friends and her future husband, David. Following graduation, she was employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. On October 19, 1958, she and James David Jensen were married at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls. They spent 20 wonderful years together and they enjoyed taking trips with their three boys to such places as Mexico and motorcycling in the Black Hills. Jane was widowed early in her life in 1978. She was left to raise their three sons on her own. She later found herself taking care of her mother at home and then in the nursing home. She also took care of her mother-in-law at her home and into the nursing home. She met Arnold Jorgenson in the mid 80s and has since enjoyed his love and companionship. They were members of the Fergus Falls American Legion and the VFW, where they loved to dance and play bingo. They took a trip to Colorado to see Arne's family, traveled to Alaska and to Las Vegas, along with various other trips, whenever they could get away. Jane enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially playing with her grandchildren, she always made her family come first. She loved to travel, collect antiques, shop, play bingo, dance and spend time at her lake home. A favorite pastime was sitting with Arnold on the porch watching the sunsets across the lake. Preceding her in death were her husband, James in 1978 and her parents. Survivors include her dear special friend and companion, Arnold Jorgenson; three sons, Brett (Christy) of Fergus Falls, Brian (Kiu) of Minnetonka, MN, and Barry (Page) of Bozman, MD; grandchildren, Kylie, Mayson, David, Rachel and Erik; brothers, Don (Marlene) Vogel of Morris, MN, Dave (Elaine) Vogel of Bloomington, MN, and Joe (Mary) Vogel of New Brighton, MN; and many very special nieces and nephews and their families. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 6th at the funeral home and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
