James “Jimi Z” Zultowski, 49, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, June 4, 2012, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. James Eugene Zultowski was born May 4, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of James Zultowski and Sheri (Mingee) Mueller. He grew up in the Chicago area, where he attended Bridgeview Elementary School and Argo Community High School. Following high school Jimi worked at various jobs in the Chicago area. He relocated to Fergus Falls, Minnesota with his companion, Stephanie, in August of 1990. While in Fergus Falls he worked at several jobs, most recently at Runningen Hide and Fur. Jimi’s true vocation was music. He was a talented musician, playing at various venues and doing numerous local gigs. Jimi loved his music and drinking beer with friends. He was a true Dead Head, following the Grateful Dead tours. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping with friends and family. Preceding him in death were his father, James Zultowski, an infant son, Stefen, and his grandparents. Survivors include his mother, Sheri Mueller and stepfather, George Mueller; three children: Charles, Aaron, and Lily; a granddaughter, Isabel Zultowski; his girlfriend, Joanna; his siblings: Bill (Debbie) Zultowski, Sheri (Shane) French, George (Mindy) Mueller III, and Michael (Jessica) Mueller; nieces and nephews Diana, Billy, Jered, Madison, Mason; special nephews JayBird, Little Big Head, and Banjo; along with countless friends and musicians. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested.
