James Alvin Kugler, 56, a resident of Underwood, died Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.
He was born on January 19, 1961, to Kenneth and Frances (Gibbard) Kugler in Fergus Falls. He grew up in rural Underwood and attended Underwood High School. After high school Jim worked as a custom combiner for 2 years. Over the years he worked at the turkey plant and also many construction jobs, including ABC Seamless, All Builders Corporation and Bristlin and Sons. He currently was employed at Quality Circuits as an assembler.
Jim loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed trapping. His joy came from cruising the back roads with his dog, Ginger, while visiting family and friends along the way. He loved to spend time with family and enjoyed telling his grandchildren past stories about his life, and reminiscing about the good ‘ol days. He was very proud of all his wrestling accomplishments from high school, such as his trips to the state tournament and holding records at Underwood High School.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents; his father, Kenneth; brothers, Richard “Dick” Kugler, Daryl Kugler Sr. and sister-in-law, Sherree Kugler.
Survivors include his children, Steven (Joelle) Kugler of Moorhead, MN, Trisha (Jason) Goff of Erhard, MN, Nicole Kugler of Detroit Lakes, MN; grandchildren, Reece, Riley and Remi Kugler, Noah and Ava Goff; mother, Frances Kugler of Fergus Falls; siblings, Verona (Steve) Bell, Dale Kugler, Doug (Terry) Kugler, Wayne (Bernie) Kugler; sister-in-law, Linda Kugler. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and many close special friends.
Visitation: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Friday, July 21, 2017, at Olson Funeral Home Chapel with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
