Iris G. Beck

Iris Beck, 87, of Battle Lake, MN, formerly of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home, Battle Lake.

Iris Glad was born May 23, 1927, in Hallock, Mn, the daughter of Howard and Inez (Spilde) Glad. She attended Lancaster High School. Following her graduation she attended Cadet Nursing Program at Deaconess Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Iris worked as a Registered Nurse at Deaconess Hospital, Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, Midway Hospital, St Paul, MN and Ottertail Nursing Home Ottertail, MN. She was a great nurse and her nursing skills were admired by her co-workers.

Iris was united in marriage to C. Lloyd Beck in 1948. She is survived by sons, Randy (Valorie), East Grand Forks, MN, and Rick (Sheila), Woodbury, MN; daughter-in-law Myrna, Midland, GA; grandchildren- Josh, Jeremy, Jesse, Shanna, Nicole, Dan Ross, Ian, Beau, Chase, Noa Leigh and Marshall; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Nickelsen (Juanita); sister, Susan (Roger) Kofstad; sister-in-law, Shirley Ehrenstrom; brother-in-law, Bill (Mickey) Beck and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; husband Lloyd; son, Danny, and brothers, Keith & Gary.

Iris had many talents & hobbies. They included her wonderful vegetable garden, canning, sewing, flower gardening, knitting, reading, and baking the best caramel rolls and buns for her children and grandchildren. She will be GREATLY MISSED.
