Irene Wilde

Irene P. Wilde, 90, a resident of Elizabeth, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the Elizabeth Country Breeze, rural Elizabeth.  She was born September 21, 1917, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and Ida (Hauge) Martinson.  She married Donald Wilde on July 2, 1936.  Irene served as Postmaster in Elizabeth for 27 years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, LWML, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elizabeth Fire Department, and the Elizabeth Senior Citizens. Preceding her in death were her husband, Donald, her parents, three sisters:  Corrine Zent, Lois Creel and Bonnie Pederson, and a son-in-law, George Wedll; Survivors include four daughters:  Marlys (Jerald) Lemke of Elizabeth, Donna (Arlyn) Samuelson of Fergus Falls, Jean Wedll of Elizabeth, and Susan (Mike) Kiser of Fargo, ND; two sons:  Jack (Verna) Wilde of Elizabeth, and Terry (Catherine) Wilde of Elizabeth; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; one sister, Delores Aune, and special family, The Solands. Visitation:     5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
