Inez Madeline Sha, 95, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls. She was born September 28, 1912, in Hankinson, North Dakota, the daughter of William and Lulu (Irons) McGray. Following graduation from high school she entered nurses training at the Wahpeton, ND hospital. After a year and a half the school closed. She then returned to Hankinson and worked at the hospital there. Determined to complete her education, she entered nurses training in Minnesota, becoming a licensed registered nurse in 1936. On September 5, 1937 she married Lyle Sha at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She continued to work as a registered nurse in Fergus Falls until 1940 when they moved to Washington State where she had accepted a position. At the time of her retirement she had completed several years as the nurse member of a medical research team, as well as being care coordinator for residents entering nursing homes. Inez and Lyle spent many winters in Arizona where she enjoyed working as a volunteer and was described as "always being there" when anyone needed help! They also spent several summers at Stalker Lake and moved to Fergus Falls in 1993. She was a member of the Federated Church. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Center where she volunteered and played in the Kitchen Band. Inez enjoyed sports, gardening, traveling, fishing and music. Preceding her in death were her husband, Lyle on November 2, 2006; her parents; and a brother, Harold. Survivors include her sister, Helen Whipple of Watertown, South Dakota, as well as many nieces and nephews.
