Ieleen G. Trites, 97, a resident of Fergus Falls, formerly of Dent, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Lake Region Healthcare.
She was born to Harvey and Carrie (Elmore) Ott, at their home, on September 28, 1920, in Maine Township, one of four children. She grew up in the Maine Township area.
On June 15, 1941, she and Carl Trites were married at Ieleen’s home. She managed Red Owl Stores in North Dakota during the war years and continued to work in grocery stores through the years as well as sell Avon. In 2012, she moved to Fergus Falls from Maine Township.
Ieleen was a member of Maine Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder, sang in the choir and was active in Ladies Aid. She enjoyed crocheting and loved to bake, being known for her delicious donuts. Her hospitality was unmatched, always a gracious host to friends and family and no one ever went away hungry.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carl who died on December 28, 2000; a brother, Gilbert Ott, and a grandson, Lance Barry.
Survivors include her son, Daryl (Joyce) of Dent; a daughter, Cheryl (Dan) Barry of Battle Lake; five grandchildren, Leigh (Shana) Barry, Laremie (Jessie) Barry, Brent Trites, Darin Trites and Carissa Trites; 10 great-grandchildren, Cody Sazama, Kellan Barry, Lauren Barry, Maggie Trites, Ben Trites, Charlie Trites, Lanston Barry, Chase Janu, Charlee Janu, and Alexa Janu; one great-great-grandson Hank Sazama; a sister, Sharon Pederson of Fergus Falls; a brother, Larry (Sally) Ott of Fergus Falls along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2018, with a 5:30 p.m. public prayer service, at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11 a.m. Monday May 21, 2018, at Maine Presbyterian Church, rural Underwood, MN

Interment: Silent Vale Cemetery, rural Underwood, MN
