Idella M. Herheim, 84, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, August 9, 2007, in Fergus Falls. Idella Mabel Holien Herheim was born April 30, 1913 in Jasper, MN to Oscar and Ida (Holter) Holien. She was educated in Moody County, Alliance Township-Hermanson School District #40. Afterwards she became employed at "Windy Rae's" cafe in Jasper and later in Wells and Blue Earth, MN. She was telephone operator in Jasper MN and later in Hardwick, MN. She married Lester Herheim on November 7, 1941. They had two sons, Robert and Alan. In 1959 they moved from Hardwick MN to Fergus Falls, MN where she worked as a telephone operator, then managed the Falls Motel and then the King Koin Laundromat. Lester passed away September 18, 1967. In 1969 Idella moved to the Twin Cities area when she worked as a governess for a family in Wayzata, MN and later moved with them to New York and then to Phoenix, AZ. Idella retired in 1978 and moved back to New Hope, MN to an apartment complex. She moved to Northridge Care Center in 2000. After an extended stay at Methodist Hospital, Idella went back to Northridge Care Center for a few weeks. She then moved to an adult foster care home in Fergus Falls, MN. She passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2007. She is survived by sons Robert (Kathy) of South Haven, MN and Alan (Mary) of Brooklyn Park, MN; three grandchildren - Zoe of Minneapolis MN; Jason (Maria) of Stevens Point, WI and Amanda of Brooklyn Park, MN. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Anika and Carter Herheim; two brothers, Arnold (Lois) of Jasper, MN, Arthur of Edina, MN; two sisters, Lorraine Posey (Jerome) of Dell Rapids, SD and Ruth Strader of Fergus Falls, MN; sister-in-law Evellyn Holien of Jasper MN, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester, brother Orvin and his wife Marvella, sister Dorothy Harms and her husband Arnold, sister-in-law Iva (Arthur) Holien, and brother Roy Holien. Funeral services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, rural Flandreau, SD on Saturday, August 11th with interment at Jasper City Cemetery.
