Howard Wienbar

Howard "Howie" G. Wienbar, 52, a resident of rural Carlisle, Minnesota, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, surrounded by his family. He was born July 6, 1955, in Fergus Falls, the son of Donald L. and Beverly Ann (Knutson) Wienbar. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. He grew up in Fergus Falls, graduating from high school there in 1974. He worked with his father in custom combining in his youth and in the construction industry throughout his adult life. Howie enjoyed spending time at his farm and with all his animals, including his horses and pets. He especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He always tried to teach and pass along his knowledge to others. His faith in Christ was important to him. Howie was kind, goodhearted, and truly appreciated all his friends and family. He was always willing to help out anyone in need, even when he was in need himself. He was a member of Hedemarken Lutheran Church where he helped with Vacation Bible School. Preceding him in death were his parents, Donald Wienbar and Beverly Olson; his brother, Mark; his aunts, Lucille Pikop and Marian Maurin; his uncles: Oscar, Sidney, Warren, Richard, and Robert Knutson, and Orville, Clarence, Amos, Earl and Robert Wienbar; and his father-in-law, Herb Rose. Survivors include his wife, Joan Wienbar, of Fergus Falls; his daughter, Kristy Tetzlaff of Brainerd, his stepchildren: Amy (Shawn) Griego of Moorhead, and Julie (Jamie) Hanson of Fergus Falls; three step-grandchildren, Bailee and Alexis Griego, and Alison Hanson; his sisters, Patty (Jeff) Ouren of Fergus Falls, and Debbie Wienbar of Fergus Falls, a brother, Ricky Olson of Fergus Falls; his nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Nathan) Hoff, Michael Rieken, Joe Ripley and Katie Olson; his aunts: Mildred Wienbar of Fergus Falls, Arlene (Walter) Henryson of California, Shirlee (Clarence) Olson of Underwood, Wanda Wienbar of Stanley, ND, and LaVon Knutson and Corrine Knutson both of Fergus Falls; his uncles, Lester (Karen) Wienbar of Redfield, SD, and Gilford (Linda) Knutson of Fergus Falls; his stepdad David (Gale) Olson of Minneapolis, and his mother-in-law, Adeline Rose of Fergus Falls. He is also survived by his beloved pets, Mason, Tucker and Mattiebell.
