Helen Deloris Richter, 85, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday January 12, 2018, at her home.
She was born on August 17, 1932, in Erhard, the daughter of Carl and Hilda (Halvorson) Moen. Helen attended Erhard Country School when living in Aurdal Township.
While married to Raymond Krog, they owned and operated West Central Speedway, where she was the manager of concessions and bookkeeping.
On December 26, 1975, she married Gerald “Jerry” Richter. She started her own cleaning service, and for 29 years she was employed as the Manager of the Underwood Municipal Liquor Store.
Helen was a member of Tingvold Lutheran Church. She loved gardening, bird feeding, and enjoyed dirt track racing, watching her children and grandchildren and actually raced herself in a powder puff competition. Helen truly enjoyed mowing the yard on her John Deere tractor.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Gerald; parents; grandson, Kristopher Boen; great grandson, Parker Krog; brothers, Walter, Ernie and Lester Moen; sisters-in-law, Joan Moen and DeeDee Moen and brother-in-law, Danny Nehk
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Rita) Krog of Fergus Falls, Donna (Steve) Hauge of Fergus Falls, Jerry (DeAnne) Krog of Fergus Falls, Larry (Diane) Krog of Fergus Falls, Susan (Gene) Wodzicki of Lutz, FL, Janice (Joe) Boen of Fergus Falls, Joyce (Jim) Detjen of Fergus Falls, and Terry Krog of Fergus Falls; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Harvey (Shirley) Moen, Clifford Moen, Kenneth Moen, Pamela (Pius) Marquart, and Faye Nehk; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Moen and Julie Moen
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018, at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, MN, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Tingvold Lutheran Church, rural Underwood, MN
Clergy: Reverend Nancy Monke
Interment: Tingvold Cemetery, rural Underwood
