Helen Piper

Helen Rose Piper, 89, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the PioneerCare Center in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was born October 3, 1921, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Lawrence and Dora (Bongard) Merchant. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, James Piper; three sisters: Florence, Stella and Lorraine; and two brothers, Lawrence and Raymond. Survivors include her daughters: Geraldine (Dave) Nelson of Fergus Falls, and Gayle (Dennis) Repke of Florida; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and special family friends, Mary Goodspeed, Mitzi Merchant, and Lynnette Hamid. There will be a family memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at the PioneerCare Center Celebration Chapel in Fergus Falls. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
