Helen Hagstrom

Helen Brummond Kempfer Hagstrom, 93, of Foxhome, MN, slipped quietly away from her earthly body to join her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Pioneer Senior Cottages in Breckenridge.
She was born February 8, 1920 to Theodore and Margaret (McMorrow) Brummond in Hankinson, North Dakota where her childhood and school years were spent. She graduated from high school in 1938.
Helen was united in marriage to James (Bud) Kempfer in 1942. They farmed at rural Foxhome until Bud’s death in 1954. In 1958 Helen was united in marriage to Clifford Hagstrom in Austin, MN. They returned to the farm at Foxhome where they continued to farm until Cliff’s death in 2001.
Helen was a faithful member of the Foxhome Lutheran Church until her health caused her to leave the farm for city living in Wahpeton and finally residing at the Pioneer Senior Cottages in Breckenridge.
Helen was also an avid sports fan, spending many enjoyable hours watching her children and grandchildren play ball as well as enjoying the Twins and Vikings.
Helen is survived by her children: James (Faye) Kempfer, Foxhome; Robert (Butch) Kempfer and companion, Shannon Marohl, Breckenridge; Linda Friederichs and companion, Steve Alstadt, Breckenridge; and David (Barb) Hagstrom, Breckenridge; nine grandchildren: Kristi (Chris) Pederson, Aurora, CO, Randy (Tara) Kempfer, Fergus Falls, Aaron Kempfer, Fargo, Stacy (Jon) Wilgohs, Staples, MN, Stephanie Friederichs (Rick Kropp), Breckenridge, MN, Joe Friederichs (Amy Melton), Seattle, Washington, Nichole 9Aaron) Johnston, Fargo, Cameron Hagstrom, and Austin Hagstrom, Breckenridge; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bud Kempfer and Clifford Hagstrom, an infant son, and her sisters, Doris McAvoy, Bismarck, Lorraine Stacy, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Lois Brummond and Ethel Brummond.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
