Hazel Barbara Evenson, 95, a resident of Anoka, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at Estates of Twin Rivers in Anoka.
She was born on February 9, 1922, to Mr. and Mrs. William Teberg of Pequot Lakes. She graduated from Pequot Lakes High School.
On June 19, 1944, she married Alvin R. Evenson at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage in Fergus Falls.
She worked at the Singer Sewing Center and several local grocery stores. Hazel was a long time Zion Lutheran Church member and was also active with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) along with her husband.
She enjoyed quilting, her church circle, Women of ELCA, gardening and canning. She loved to sew and was a gifted seamstress. She also crocheted and knitted.
Since 2010 Hazel has lived in Anoka, MN, to be closer to her daughter.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 2003, her daughter, Susan in 1968, siblings, William, Mary, Gertrude, Hank, Charles, Minnie, Dorothy and Louie.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie (Larry) Kracht of Anoka; grandchildren Chad Phillips of Fergus Falls and Troy Phillips of Anoka; six great-grandchildren, Dante, Cameren, Thomas, Allen, Jaylynn, and Taylor, step grandchildren, Tammi Kracht, Tim Alexander, a sister-in-law, Pat Teberg as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 28 at Olson Funeral Home and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 1:00 pm Saturday, April 29 at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls
