Hattie Amanda Nerdahl, 87, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was born June 13, 1924, at the family home in rural Henning, Minnesota, the daughter of William G. and Grace (Veer) Schrader. She grew up in the Henning area where she attended country school. She was baptized at her parent’s home on August 15, 1926, and confirmed on April 2, 1939, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Henning. On March 18, 1945 she and Howard Nerdahl of Granite Falls, Minnesota, were married in Henning. They lived on Star Lake near Dent where they raised their family and she cared for the home. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dora Township. Hattie enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and was a great cook and a caring mother. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a son, Terry; three sisters: Grace Lukken, Wilma Haugdahl, and Arlene Groen; and four brothers: Ben, George, Carl and Herman Schrader. Survivors include two sons: William (Joyce) Nerdahl of Underwood, MN, and Timothy Nerdahl of Dent; two granddaughters: Julie (Daniel) Blaskowski of Fergus Falls, and Tressa Holzer of Perham; six great-grandchildren: Jessica, Shalby, Levi, Abigail, Amelia and Isaac Blaskowski, all of Fergus Falls; and two sisters: Alice Clear of Parkers Prairie, and Shirley Eckhoff of Henning.
