Harold Allen Jorgenson, 83, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, January 27, 2018, at PioneerCare Homestead Cottage in Fergus Falls.
He was born on August 26, 1934, on the farm near Mentor, Minnesota, the son of Harlow and Esther (Larson) Jorgenson. Harold grew up in the Mentor area graduating from high school there.
After high school, Harold began working for the Garden Valley Telephone Company in Erskine. Two years later he joined the United States Navy, and was stationed in the Pacific. Upon his discharge, he went to work in Wyoming for the Ah Try Construction Company, installing telecommunications systems. In 1963, Harold moved to Fergus Falls, and began a 38-year career with Ottertail Power Company.
On November 22, 1969, Harold married Olga “Sandy” Sandvik at the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Nielsville, MN. Harold’s interests included hunting and fishing.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Harlow and Esther Jorgenson; and sister, Iva Weins Tupa.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Fergus Falls; daughter, Barbara Jorgenson of Fergus Falls; twin brother, Harvey (Linda) Jorgenson of Erskine; half-sister, Eleanor Radi of Crookston; along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews, including a local nephew, Mark & Michelle Jorgenson of Fergus Falls.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018, at the Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls
