Harold Hexum

Harold Hexum, 79, of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, March 16, 2025 at his home.

Harold Owen Hexum was born December 12, 1945, the seventh of eight children to Ole Melvin and Gunda (Wee) Hexum. He graduated from Rothsay High School in 1964 and then Moorhead State University in 1969. After college he was drafted and served in the United States Army. He worked many years in financial services.

On December 28, 1968, Harold married Barbara Olson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

He enjoyed golfing, traveling, watching sports, time at Ottertail Lake, and especially enjoyed following his granddaughters in all their activities.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Barbara; siblings, Errol, Carol Ouren-Anderson, Myron, Robert, Richard and Morris; siblings-in-law, Carol Hexum, Harold Ouren, Irvin Anderson, JoAnn Hexum, Joyce Hexum, Carolyn Hexum, and Mark Olson; nieces and nephews, Marilyn Honer, Marlene Honer, Denise Ouren, Kirk Hexum, and Ben Olson.

Harold is survived by his son, John (Missy) Hexum; daughter, Sarah (Chris) O’Kane; granddaughters, Allison, Erin, and Jordan O’Kane, Lauren, Aubrey, and Hannah Hexum; sister, Kay (Arnie) Moen; in-laws, Renee Korda, Kathy (Curt) Thompson, Carolyn (Brent) Adams, and Joel Olson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials preferred to Underwood Sports Boosters or donor’s choice.

Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.
