Harold Boese

Harold H. Boese, 91, of rural Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the MN Veteran’s Home in Fergus Falls.

Harold H. Boese was born February 14, 1933 to Henry F. and Margaret A. (Neubauer) Boese.

From 1953 to 1955 Harold was a member of the Army Infantry. He entered the Army as a PVT and honorably discharged as a Corporal.

He married Joyce Haarstad. In 1960, Harold and Joyce bought a grain and dairy farm in Aastad Township, where he lived until he entered the nursing home. He especially liked the spring, when he could drive his John Deere tractors. Harold enjoyed attending auction sales and sale barns, coffee time with his friends, and tilling the soil.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Margaret Boese; siblings, Eldora (James) Pedersen, Deloris (Winton) Boll, Herman Boese; nephews, Douglas Pedersen, Dennis Pedersen, and Donald Boll; niece, Linda Stellmaker; brother-in-law, Ordean (Marilyn) Haarstad, and sister-in-law, DeLaine (Art) Erickson.

Harold is survived by his wife, Joyce Boese; children, Dale Boese, Daryl (Diane) Boese, Doyle (Diane) Boese, and Darla Boese; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Peggy) Boese, Joshua (Jenn) Boese, Sarah (Elliot) Johnson, Robert Gorghuber, Daniel Gorghuber, Stephanie (Shane) Raza, Steven Boese, Marc (Paige) Boese, and Michael Boese; great-grandchildren, Hannah (Tatum) Shaffer, Haleigh Boese, Charlie Boese, Ethan Johnson, Reed Johnson, Amelia Gorghuber, Rylee Boese, Sawyer Boese, Yusef Raza, Liam Raza, and Zayn Raza; great-great-grandchild due in August 2025; nieces, Kathi (David) Grewe, and Nancy Weik; nephews, Michael (Linda) Haarstad and Ronald (Melinda) Erickson, and numerous other extended family. 

Special thanks to the MN Veteran’s Home in Fergus Falls for their excellent care and the kindness shown towards Harold and his family.

A private service will be held.
