Gregory Centers

Gregory Armand Centers, 71, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.  He was born August 30, 1938, in Harvey, Illinois, the son of Loren and Elsie (Haseman) Centers. He grew up in Harvey, attending school there. As a teen his family moved to Battle Lake, Minnesota, where he helped his parents at the Minneha Resort. Gregory was in the U.S. Navy, entering the service in 1959. He was stationed in Florida until his discharge in 1962. He rejoined the Navy in 1965 and was stationed overseas, where he received the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was discharged in 1966. He lived in Fergus Falls where he provided janitorial and cleaning services. On October 21, 2004 he and Shari Elshaug were married in Sisseton, South Dakota. He enjoyed fishing and watching TV. He was a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Fergus Falls. Survivors include his wife, Shari Centers, of Fergus Falls; one son, Curt (Rhonda) Centers of Hugo, MN; three grandchildren: Zachary, Logan, and Zoie; and a brother, Mike (Lorie) Centers of Minneapolis.
