Glen Laugen, 83, a resident of rural Fergus Falls, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at his home under the care of Red River Valley Hospice.
Glen was born on July 18, 1931, on the family farm in Elizabeth Township, rural Fergus Falls, to John and Clara (Seem) Laugen. He was confirmed and baptized at Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth.
On March 31, 1953 Glen married Margaret Stender at St. John Lutheran Church parsonage in Elizabeth. and lived on the family dairy farm where they raised grain, cattle and for a short time hogs.
He was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church and served on the church council. Glen enjoyed baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins. He also enjoyed playing whist and spending time with his grandchildren and taking part in their lives.
Preceding him in death were his parents; John and Clara Laugen; sisters, Muriel (Carl) Landberg, Elma Heineke; brothers, Elroy Laugen and Orville (Cynthia) Laugen.
Survivors include, wife, Margaret; son, Brian (Cathy) Laugen of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Nichole Wheeler (Samuel Odukoya) of Moorhead, Jesse Laugen (Katie Hansen) of Fargo, ND., Matthew Laugen of Eau Claire, WI., Mariah Laugen of Fergus Falls; great-grandchildren, Mkeilah Saurer and Antasia Wheeler; sister-in-law, Emma Laugen of Fergus Falls and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, Elizabeth.
