Geraldine Kort

Geraldine L. Kort, 90, resident of rural Fergus Falls, died Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Lake Region Hospital.

Geraldine Lavon Kort was born July 26, 1934, in Fergus Falls, MN to George and Helen (Olson) Miller. She attended and graduated from Fergus Falls Public School.

On November 7, 1953, she was united in marriage to Arvin Kort at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, they were married for 65 years until Arvin's passing. Arvin and Gerry were dairy and grain farmers on their family homestead for many years together.

Geraldine was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls. Gerry was a loyal member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, MN where she enjoyed fellowship with everyone.

Gerry loved living on the farm her whole life and Spring was her favorite time of year when the calves were born. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and loved it when the grand and great grandkids came over searching for treats and staying to visit. Gerry always supported her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids in all their activities and rarely missed a sporting event, whether in person or watching online. She also enjoyed spending her time at Jewett Lake with all her family and going out for supper.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arvin; parents, George and Helen Miller; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernest and Clara Kort; great-grandson, Parker Kort and brother, Duane Miller.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Cheryl (Chuck) Sherbrooke of Battle Lake, Patty (Larry) Schneeberger of Elbow Lake, James Kort of Fergus Falls and Julie Springer of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Trevor Schneeberger (Susan Wellendorf), Dustin (Iris) Schneeberger, Jordan (Amy) Schneeberger, Daniel (Tanya) Kort, Malerie Kort, Andrea (Joe) Ouren and Abby Kowalski; great-grandchildren, Easton, Brennan and Becker Kort, Wessen and Royce Schneeberger, Lane Coleman and Patrick and Cohen Kowalski, Harper and Logan Ouren, Addy and Ellie Schneeberger and Wynn and Colbie Schneeberger; sister, Janice Schwarck; brother, Gary (Kathy) Miller and several nieces and nephews.

Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Olson Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Fergus Falls with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Clergy: Brian Wing S.A.M and Reverend Kate Bruns

Interment: Augustana Lutheran Cemetery, Elizabeth, MN
