George H. Myers, 88, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.
George Henry Myers was born February 2, 1935 in Blooming Prairie, MN to Kenneth and Alice (Anderson) Myers. He graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1953 and Mankato State University in 1962. He was a member of the United States Navy for two years, serving in the Pacific Fleet from 1956-1958.
On July 7, 1962 George married Ina Hasart in Eau Claire, WI.
He was employed with the US General Accounting Office from 1964-1970 as an Auditor and then at Otter Tail Power Company from 1970-1997 as an Internal Auditor.
George was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Fergus Falls since 1972 and served on various commissions. He was on the Board of Directors for the Lake Region Halfway House and a member of the Alano Club.
He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He loved watching the many swim meets and hockey games that his sons participated in.
George was a good-natured man who will be remembered for his gift of telling many jokes and stories.
Preceding him death were his siblings, Margie (Bill) Zenowitz, Norma (Jay) Betlach, Lois (Bob) Dunker, Pat (Howie) Peterson, and Janet Guttormson; brother-in-law, Arnie Hoveland, and nephew, Mitchell Myers.
George is survived by his wife, Ina Myers; his children, Jeff (Randy Bye) of Minneapolis, Tim (Sarah Doebler) of Minneapolis, and Eric (Dariela) of Hollis, NH; grandchildren, Selma, Ian, Olivia, and Joshua; siblings, Doug (Judy) Myers and Ron (Arlene) Myers; brother-in-law, Jim Guttormson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Memorials are preferred to Grace United Methodist Church Foundation in Fergus Falls, Lake Region Halfway House or donor’s choice.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls and continuing one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Grace United Methodist Church in Fergus Falls.
