Frances Elnora Langfeld-Max, 88, a resident of Fergus Falls, formerly of Rothsay, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Mill Street Residence in Fergus Falls.
Frances was born on January 20, 1927, to William and Nora (Possehl) Hanneman. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elizabeth and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She grew up on the family farm in Fergus Falls Township and attended country school in District #92. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School.
On June 16, 1946, she was united to marriage to Wilfred Langfeld. He passed away on October 7, 1983. Two years after Wilfred died, Frances moved to Rothsay. On July 31, 1990, she married Richard Max and he passed away on January 4, 2001. She worked at Scott’s Five and Dime in Fergus Falls and then was employed as a turkey counter at West Central Turkey’s in Pelican Rapids, for twenty-four and a half years, retiring on May 30, 1991.
In 2007, Frances moved to Mill Street Residence in Fergus Falls. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nora; her two husbands, Wilfred Langfeld and Richard Max; a brother-in-law, Merrill Rau; and a niece, Twyla Neumann.
Frances is survived by two sisters, Fern Rau of Elizabeth and Lorraine (Wilbur) Langfeld of Rothsay; two brothers, Lyle Hanneman and Richard (Sue) Hanneman, both of Fergus Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
