Florence P. Leitch, 97, of Underwood, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
She was born July 18, 1916, on the farm in Sverdrup Township, rural Underwood, Minnesota, the daughter of Gustave and Olga (Beckman) Onstad. She grew up on the farm, and attended country school at District 109. She was baptized and confirmed at Sverdrup Lutheran Church. Prior to her marriage she worked on the family farm, and helped raise her sister, Carol.
On July 2, 1939, she married Roy Leitch in Underwood, Minnesota. They lived on the family farm until moving to Underwood in 1950. She was the second cook hired at the Underwood School, and worked there for 15 years until her retirement.
Florence was a member of Sverdrup Lutheran Church, where she participated in circle for many years, quilted, and helped make lefse for fundraisers.
She enjoyed gardening and flowers, cooking, and baking.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Roy, her son, Gary Leitch, a sister, Muriel, and brothers Wilfred and Vernon and their spouses.
Survivors include her daughter, LaVay Swanson; daughter-in-law, Susan Leitch; grandchildren: Julie Swanson, Darla (Bob) Miller, Daryl Swanson, Lance (Kari) Leitch, Brett Leitch, and Shawn (Angie) Leitch; great-grandchildren: Shawn, Daniel and Erin Andersen, Crystal (Blair) Herman, Beau Fabian, Anthony Miller, Zane and Zoey Swanson, Katie Leitch, and Kali and Ellie Leitch; great-great-grandchildren, Gianna and Trent Herman; a sister, Carol Mavis of Lynnwood WA; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Sverdrup Lutheran Church, Underwood MN

Interment: Sverdrup Lutheran Cemetery, Underwood MN
