Everett Soliah

Everett Arthur Soliah, 91, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at his home. He had spent the last several months trying to recover from lung surgery. He was born November 6, 1915, in Otter Tail County, the son of Henry and Elma (Grinder) Soliah. He grew up in Aastad Township, graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1933. Growing up he worked various jobs in the area. On June 25, 1938, he married Marian Lillemoen at Choteau, Montana. Together they made their home in Fergus Falls where they raised their three children. He worked for the State Hospital as an aid, and later as a bulk fuel delivery driver for the Co-op Oil Company. In the early 1950's he began driving truck for IT, International Transport, where he spent the next 30 years traveling all over the United States and Canada, until retiring in 1981. He was a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Eagles and the Elks. He lost his wife Marian to cancer in 1992. On May 30, 1996, he married Lucille Miksche at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. They enjoyed spending time together, taking many trips, traveling from the West Coast to the East Coast and going to musicals at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater. Everett had a love for dancing. He spent most of his weekend evenings out dancing with his wife and enjoying good conversation with friends. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and working around his yard. He was an avid reader and sports fan watching the Twins and Vikings games on T.V. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Elma; his first wife, Marian; his only son Daryl, in 1973; and one brother, Clifton Soliah. Survivors include his wife, Lucille, of Fergus Falls; two daughters: Sharon (Roy) Eggum and Diane (Paul) Anderson, of Fergus Falls; three stepdaughters: Kathryn (Steve) Weigel of Chicago, IL, Mary (Kevin) Rist of Wyomissing, PA, and JoAnn (Dean) Beilke of Fargo, ND; four stepsons: Robert (Sandy) Miksche of Laconia, NH, Richard Miksche of Mooreton, ND, Andrew Miksche of Willmar, MN, and Joseph (Marlo) Miksche of Minneapolis, MN; numerous grandchildren: Scott (Kim) Eggum, Kristi (Wade) Erickson, Kim (Greg) Watterud, Deven Anderson and Brady Anderson; 12 great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Jennifer, Haley, Tyson, Luke, Liv, Zachary, Mara, Chase, Brandyn, Cailyn and Jayden; one sister, Helen Danelke of Alexandria; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church. Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls Clergy:     Reverend Paul H.
