Evelyn Emma Norgren, 91, of Elizabeth, died Friday, February 25, 2011, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was born May 26, 1919, in Elizabeth, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl and Matilda (Uhlig) Holthusen. She attended school in Elizabeth. On August 25, 1940, she married Kenneth William Norgren at St. John Lutheran in Elizabeth. She worked for Greenagel Dry Cleaning in Fergus Falls, and then was employed as the secretary for the Elizabeth Creamery in Elizabeth for 30 years, retiring in 1991. Evelyn was a member of the Fergus Falls VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and St. John Lutheran where she participated in the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening and baking, and loved dancing. She attended dances several times a week throughout the area, and is now dancing with the angels in heaven. Preceding her in death were her husband, Kenneth Norgren Sr., her parents, a brother, Lloyd Holthusen, a half brother, Carl Holthusen Jr.; and a half sister, Bertha Olson. Survivors include her children: Kenneth Norgren of Moorhead, MN, Ervin (Sylvia) Norgren of Columbia, MD, and Elaine (Roger) Wilde of Moorhead, MN; five grandchildren: Yolanda Wilde-Swenson, Tanya Wilde-McPherson, Derek Wilde, Ciss Norgren, and Dorothy Norgren; five great-grandchildren: Logan, Alicia and Samantha Swenson, and Chase and Tanner McPherson; a sister-in-law, Luella Swenson; a brother-in-law, Stanley Norgren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a very special friend, Don Baumgartner.
