Evelyn O. Larson, age 99, a resident of PioneerCare in Fergus Falls, died Friday, September 30, 2011, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls. Evie was born June 16, 1912, at Granite Falls, Minnesota. She was one of three children born to Sever and Tomina (Lauve) Enstad. She graduated from Granite Falls High School and trained as a dental assistant. She was married to Kalmer A. Larson on January 4, 1936, in Granite Falls. They lived in Pipestone, Minnesota, before Kal became a partner of the Arneson & Larson Clothing Store in Fergus Falls. Evie was a member of First Lutheran Church, serving in several church organizations including the church choir, ladies aid, and also participated in several bible study groups. She was a member of Sons of Norway and the Norwegian Choir, and was a PEO member. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother, Oliver, her sister, Mary, and her husband, Kalmer. Survivors include her son, Mark Larson, of Palm Harbor, Florida; two daughters, Kay (Charlie) Basch of St. Cloud, and Jeanne Vigen of Madison, Connecticut; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a brother, Merald (Jeanette) Enstad of Fergus Falls. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the PioneerCare Center in Fergus Falls with Chaplain Harry Olson officiating. Interment will be at First Lutheran North Cemetery, Fergus Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the PioneerCare Chapel Fund. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
