Evelyn Brynteson, age 89, died peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2009, under hospice care at the home of her daughter in Fergus Falls, MN. Evelyn and her husband relocated to Mill Street Residence in Fergus Falls from Atlanta, GA in September 2005 after a stroke created physical limitations. She was born November 5, 1919, in Chicago, IL the daughter of Andrew and Hulda Doosvand. She dedicated her life to Jesus as a teenager and faithfully served and loved her Lord. Her testimony was her life, together with a gentle, peaceful spirit which was evident to all she met. On October 23, 1937, she married G. Harold Brynteson in Chicago, IL. She was a faithful wife, dedicated mother and grandmother, homemaker and an encourager to everyone she met. No one ever left her home hungry or in need. She was an avid gardener, creative seamstress, and flowers blossomed under her care. She was a faithful letter writer, sending out hundreds of letters of encouragement and never forgetting the sending of special occasion cards to family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Betty. Survivors include her husband, Harold of Fergus Falls; sons, David (Shirley) of Sycamore, IL, Don (Bonnie) of Riverton, Manitoba, Canada, and Paul (Donna) of Bloomfield, CO; daughters, Esther (Paul) Zosel of Fergus Falls and Sharon (Tim) Yoder of Lawrenceville, GA; 13 grandchildren: Mark (Cindy) Brynteson of Belvidere, IL, Mike (Kristin) Brynteson of Genoa, IL, Rick (Debbie) Brynteson of Colorado, Randy (Debbie) Brynteson of San Juan, TX, Ruth (Bryan) Dyck of Riverton, Manitoba, Canada, Rachel Lovestrand of Mercedes, TX, Tim (Jenny) Brynteson of Greeley, CO, Deborah (Lawson) Quinn of Temecula, CA, Josh (Andrea) Zosel of Fargo, ND, Jason (Leah) Zosel of St. Cloud, MN, and Rebekah, Rachel and Andrew Yoder of Lawrenceville, GA; and 25 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lakeland Hospice in Fergus Falls. There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Fergus Falls, MN. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
